Gavin Ireland has been a journalist since 1996. Starting out as a sports writer for the newspaper at San Pasqual High School, he later moved up as editor for the sports department and became lead sports writer. In 1997, he began writing for America Online’s college sports sections and was managing editor for San Diego State University for the network. In 1999, he was recruited to Rivals.com as the administrator for their San Diego State University and Mountain West Conference departments. He took on the role of web designer, photojournalist, editor-in-chief, lead writer, and graphic designer. His articles were soon after being circulated through major sports networks such as ESPN.com, CBSSports.com, FoxSports.com, TheSportingNews.com, among others.
